Rohit's day wasn't successful. The 35-year-old injured his thumb while fielding at second slip in the second over of Bangladesh's innings, and was then taken to the hospital. He came back to the field, hitting at No. 9, and fought valiantly to get the runs.
India had a chance because of Rohit's amazing performance (51 not out off 28 balls with three fours and five sixes), but he ultimately couldn't carry them across the finish line. The only player with more sixes than Rohit is Chris Gayle of the West Indies, who has 533.
Nobody else in India has more than 400 sixes. The Indian player who comes closest to Rohit is MS Dhoni, who has 359 sixes. Shahid Afridi (476), Brendon McCullum (398), and Martin Guptill (383) are the third, fourth, and fifth most six-hitters in international cricket, respectively.
