Several Bollywood celebrities paid homage to the late actor, including actors Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Jackie Shroff, actress Vidya Balan, producer Boney Kapoor, and Moushumi Chatterjee.
The mourners included producers Boney Kapoor, Ramesh Taurani, and Ashoke Pandit, directors David Dhawan, Abbas Mastan, and Vivek Agnihotri, comedian Sunil Pal, cinematographer Baba Azmi, and lyricist Javed Akhtar.
Kaushik, widely known for his role as Calendar in 'Mr. India,' died on March 8 in New Delhi after suffering a cardiac arrest. The experienced filmmaker died of a heart attack, according to the post-mortem report.
Anupam revealed on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sent a note of condolence to Shashi. He tweeted the PM's message and received a thank you note from Shashi.
