Although Patel's actual birthday is still uncertain, he claimed to have been born on October 31 on his matriculation exam paper; as a result, the day is now recognized as both his natal anniversary and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, or National Unity Day.

  1. Sardar Patel was Minister of Home Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister for the first three years of Indian independence

  2. After completing the bar exam, Patel began practicing law in Gujarat's Godhra, Borsad, and Anand. He borrowed books from more experienced attorneys.

  3. Patel came to England at the age of 36 and enrolled in the Middle Temple Inn, a law school. Despite never having attended college before, he finished a 36-month course in just 30 months and received the highest score on the final exam.

  4. About 565 princely states existed in India before it attained independence, and convincing them to peacefully reunite with India was a difficult task for Congress. The person who accepted the duty and completed it successfully was Sardar Patel.

  5. Patel was not engaged in politics at the beginning of the liberation movement. In Kheda, during a time of famine and plague, Patel quit his job and joined the protest to call for tax exemptions at Gandhi's suggestion.

  6. He made significant contributions to the emancipation of women, and the fight against alcoholism, untouchability, and caste prejudice in Gujarat and beyond.

  7. Patel enlisted in Gandhi's Non-Cooperation Movement and went door-to-door in West India to sign up 3,000,000. Additionally, he raised almost Rs 1.5 million for the party fund.
