Quick Tips and Tricks to Keep Your Skin Healthy in Winters

The fall is about to get over and the winter will soon be knocking the door. Winter is harsh on our delicate skin; it steals all the moisture off the skin, leaving it crack, dry and rough.

Every day skincare is a thing of luxury if you want your skin healthy and to glow through the winters, so here are some easy tips and tricks to keep your glow healthy.

Keep your body hydrated:

Due to winters, we feel less thirsty and often avoid cold water, so we drink less water. To keep the body healthy we need to keep it hydrated by drinking water slowly and at regular time intervals. Since it is winters, it is better to sip warm water or drink teas throughout the day. There is a variety of flavours of tea available in the market, such as chamomile, chrysanthemum, cardamom, cinnamon, lemon, green, and all kinds of herbal teas, to help beat the cold weather with a refreshing cup of tea throughout the day.

Short Showers:

Winters are tempting to take long hot showers or dip in the tub of hot water for longer periods than usual. This will result in washing of all the natural moisture that the body produces. Hence avoid long shower times and keep them short.

You will be glad to know that our ancestors used to apply oil before going for shower, because they used to massage gently and moisture their body to exfoliate the dead skin and then wash it off with cold/warm water. The ancestors never used to shower with hot water because it damages the immunity system of the body; hence their showers were short to keep the moisture and immunity of the body intact.

Use oils to moisturise:

If you are not that fond of oil, then there are a number of moisturisers available in the market. One can buy one, which suits their skin type. Time to time touch up is equally advisable because your skin absorbs the moisturiser and the skin starts drying out.

Essential oils are very good for skin and aura; one can mix some drops of essential oil with the regular oil as base and apply on the skin to keep it healthy, naturally fragrant and glowing.

Never say never to Sunscreen:

We often buy the myth that sunscreen is only applied during summers, but the truth is that the UV rays from the sun do not follow any time table as such. Hence sunscreen is must whenever you step out in the sun, if you want to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.
